What exactly is air entangling? The progress of manufacturing technology has led to a wide range of carpet styles and materials. Numerous production methods make all kinds of carpet fiber combinations. Different yarns are created and woven to make carpets that last longer and look better than ever. Air entangling, a newer method of producing yarn for carpeting, creates beautiful and long-lasting fibers.

Air entangling is the process of locking fibers together using air jets pulsing at regular intervals. As a result, it forces two plies of yarn together, creating a bulky appearance often seen in Berber and other loop construction carpeting. It’s ideal for mingling different kinds of fibers to get a combination of colors and looks. Therefore, the process is especially good for creating a heathered look for carpeting. While there are many different kinds of ways to lock carpet fibers together, using air jets to blend different ones together continues to be a popular choice for many manufacturers.
