Image of carpet dying methodsHumans figured out the basics of dyeing carpet thousands of years ago. To get the range of colors and patterns of carpet that customers want today, there are many modern methods for the dyeing processes and procedures that deliver it. Dyeing, the process of coloring the carpet yarn, allows for many different color combinations that clients can choose from.  However, some dyes fade away after a while or when exposed to sunlight, wear and tear, and chemicals. The best method for dyeing carpet for color retention is solution dyeing.

There are several other dyeing methods, like yarn dyed, beck dyeing, and continuous dyeing. However, solution dyeing remains one of the most preferred. In solution dyeing, synthetic yarn is extruded, and the filaments are saturated with dye. This process makes solution-dyed carpet one of the strongest for colorfastness. Therefore, clients who need a carpet that is highly resistant to color fading should look for one that has undergone solution dyeing. When it is treated with stain-resistant technology to reduce the risk of permanent stains, the color fastness is even better.

There’s no doubt that carpet can come in a range of colors, and each customer has different wants and needs. Consequently, with solution dyeing, there are going to be plenty of colors and patterns to choose from. Modern technology involved in dyeing carpet remains incredibly advanced and delivers lots of options and top performance results to customers.
