ANSI, or the American National Standards Institute, is the non-profit group that coordinates standards and conformity assessments. It oversees the use of guidelines, standards, and measurements across several industries. It is helping to develop performance standards.

ANSI was first formed in 1918. It has since grown to help ensure effective standards for more than 80 percent of the global community. People across the globe highly respect this accreditation organization. ANSI represents more than 125,000 companies. All the participating businesses voluntarily conform to the standards and assessments. This creates a better way for them to operate in the global economy and ensure safety and security for businesses and customers alike.

When it comes to flooring, ANSI provides assessments on different aspects, such as floor friction standards. Setting these standards for floor safety is important for all kinds of flooring material like ceramic, stone, wood, and other hard surface flooring. When companies can measure up to their standards, it sends a clear message to customers that they are compliant with globally recognized safety standards.
