carpet inspectorCarpet is one of the most popular floor coverings, from residential homes to professional workspaces. When it comes to figuring out problems related to the material or the installation of carpet, many owners turn to a professional carpet inspector. But what makes an inspector a professional?

Experience

A professional carpet inspector should have several years of experience in the carpet and flooring industry. Many have worked as flooring installers or as flooring contractors before becoming a professional inspector. In other words, a good carpet inspector should possess some core competencies when it comes to performing an audit of the carpeting in question.

Certification

Just being an expert in the flooring industry is not enough to make someone a professional carpet inspector. They need to pass certification courses that train individuals in inspecting a range of different flooring. Such as carpet, hardwood, tile, laminate, and more. The courses are usually hands-on training that covers manufacturing, installation, and maintenance issues common in the industry. The expert learns proper inspection techniques and how to use special tools and equipment for gathering evidence. After the training program, the individual earns certification.

Professionalism

To be a professional carpet inspector, the individual must approach each job with no bias or influence from any parties. Even though the inspector works for the commissioning party, they must avoid all bias and publish their findings based on the facts of the inspection. Even if the findings are not in favor of the commissioning party, the professional carpet inspector must stand by their conclusions, even if questioned.

It’s important to remember that professional carpet inspectors are objective observers when it comes to carpet issues. With an unbiased approach, years of experience and proper training, these inspectors are the experts in the field that all parties can rely on.
