How Does a Warranty Affect a Carpet Inspection?

A carpet warranty is a guarantee to replace or compensate in the event the carpet doesn’t meet performance standards.

Carpet inspectors are the experts when it comes to examining problems with carpets. Everyone knows that carpet will stain, soil, and eventually wear out during its natural lifetime. However, when some or all of these things happen prematurely, it can cause problems with the client.

Warranties can cover stains and wear and tear, as long as there are no circumstances that might void them. Carpet inspectors who arrive to assess a situation should never make any judgments based on whether or not the carpet is under warranty.

Carpet inspectors are often employed to use their expertise in determining issues that appear. Then, they have to make the call on whether the problem originated from the manufacturer’s end or the client’s end. Warranty information should never play a role in the assessment, and inspectors should always be objective in their observations. Regardless of fault or status, the carpet inspector owes all parties the truth.
