glue down carpet

There are several different types of carpet installation procedures, but the most popular is direct glue carpet installation. Installers take the carpet and glue it directly to a concrete floor with a powerful adhesive. The result is a strong and durable flooring surface that is warm and inviting. It’s ideal for both residential floors and commercial spaces. However, the best glue down carpet installations all depend on the condition of the concrete flooring.

Before installing any glue down carpet, the concrete floor must be clean and dry, as well as fully cured. The concrete can’t have any chips or cracks allowed. It absolutely must have professional patching for any cuts made. All high spots, low spots or imperfections need fixed first. They will cause bumps and high spots in the carpet. This will result in uneven wear and tear.

When the adhesive is applied to the floor, the installer carefully puts the carpeting down and lets the entire thing cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Glue down carpet makes an ideal choice for heavily trafficked areas, ramps and entryways. It is an excellent choice for a low profile floor covering that still needs to look nice and last a long time.
