juneau slip and fall expert witnessChances are that a slip and fall accident will happen at the workplace at some point. Juneau business owners will likely end up in court in a liability lawsuit at least once in their career. When that happens, it’s important to have a Juneau slip and fall expert witness around to provide facts and information to both parties.

Minimizing Slip and Fall Accidents at Work

Juneau business owners should work with walkway auditors before any type of slip and fall accident happens. Because flooring at the workplace does get neglected sometimes. There are things that business owners can do to minimize the risks.

Here are three things Juneau business owners can do to reduce the risk that a court will find them negligent after a workplace slip and fall accident:

Have a floor maintenance plan. Create a guide on what to do in the event of a spill at work. Include several training sessions for employees and even hold some real-life training where employees have to take care of a spill. Hold regular training on floor maintenance and safety, and keep records of all sessions.

  1. Keep walkways clutter-free. Clutter, obstacles, and debris can cause trips and falls. These hazards often appear in walkways, hallways, stairways, and entrances. Examples include electrical cords stretched across a hallway or boxes blocking an entrance. Clutter interferes with foot traffic and may increase the risk of a liability lawsuit.
  2. Maintain, repair and replace. Keep up on maintenance and repair work for every flooring surface and get things fixed as soon as possible. Loose tiles, runs in carpet, uneven flooring and more are much easier and less expensive to tend to right away than being found liable in a slip and fall lawsuit.

Juneau business owners have a responsibility to their employees and customers to create a low-risk environment for slip and fall accidents. It’s never too early to start.

Value of a Juneau Slip and Fall Expert Witness

During a liability lawsuit, business owners and slip and fall victims may need an expert to explain the flooring conditions. A slip and fall expert witness can review the floor and identify other factors that may have contributed to the accident.

The expert can then present accurate and trustworthy information to the court. A qualified witness should have extensive flooring experience. They should also understand walkway audits and flooring inspections.

Business owners and injured parties should not face an important case without expert analysis. A Juneau slip and fall expert witness can help present the facts clearly. Rob McNealy of Flooristics has years of experience in the industry and has appeared as an expert witness across the country. For an unbiased analysis, call Flooristics.
