Does Heat Set Carpet Last Longer?

Carpet manufacturing technology takes advantage of all the latest machinery and knowledge. Manufacturers create floor coverings that are strong, beautiful, and perfect for the environment they are in. The heat-set carpet process is one of the best modern developments for carpet manufacturing.

Heat setting is a process that affects the carpet fibers. Heat setting enables them to stay more tightly twisted than fibers without heat setting. The tighter the twist, the denser the carpeting is, and that allows for more yarn per inch. A tighter fiber also helps the carpeting resist matting and hold up better for foot traffic. Another benefit of heat setting is that the yarn will not unravel as easily.

Within the industry, experts agree that when carpet is manufactured using heat-set yarn, it is definitely more attractive, durable, and comfortable for the client. There’s no questioning the high quality and benefits that this type of carpet brings.
