Laying Tile in Rooms That Are Not Square

Laying out tile is definitely a skill that flooring installers need to learn. Once of the most frustrating aspects of a tile job occurs when a room is not square. This can create a number of issues with tile placement that can really affect the appearance of the final product.

While it would be ideal for every room to be built exactly square, more often than not, there are a few degrees of difference. It’s definitely something that a client would be worried about because it can ruin the appeal and the aesthetics of the room. It can make the entire space seem off balance and unappealing. Flooring installers need to be very aware so they don’t make this mistake.

When the room is not square and the installer doesn’t adjust for it, it can make the flooring tile run off at an angle in the room when viewed from the ends. In other words, when standing at one end of the room, it appears that the tile is running off underneath the wall instead of following it with clean lines and even spacing.

Creating a plan to deal with rooms that are out of square is important for tile installers so they can make sure the tile job they do is just right and that the client will ultimately be pleased with the results.
