Why are so many Las Vegas business owners choosing wood flooring for their offices, stores, and other workplace locations? It’s because hardwood flooring is so durable and beautiful! When you choose wood flooring, it sends the message to employees and customers that you care about quality and style.

However, if you notice something not right with your commercial wood flooring, or just want to get an expert opinion on the safety of the wood flooring, call a Las Vegas flooring inspector.

Caring for Commercial Wood Flooring

Any time you have commercial hardwood flooring, it’s important to make sure you are caring for it properly in order to increase the beauty and boost the safety. Improper care can cause moisture to warp the wood, or residue to build up evenly. Wood floors can get too sticky or too slippery if not properly cared for. Finally, there are plenty of different cleaning supplies on the market, so making sure yours are the right ones is also important.

Here are 7 things you should do to properly care for the commercial wood flooring at your workplace:

  1. Don’t allow spills to sit for long on wood flooring; wipe them up immediately.
  2. Once per week, use a vacuum, broom or dusting mop on the floor.
  3. Place rubber backed mats on the wood flooring wherever there is an exterior door to trap dirt.
  4. Never push or roll heavy appliances and furniture on wood flooring because it can scratch.
  5. Avoid using strong cleaners, wax, detergent, bleach, soap or oil-based cleaners as it can ruin your wood flooring.
  6. For spot cleaning and sticky spills, use a soft rag and a detergent specifically designed for wood flooring.
  7. Hire a flooring inspector to perform an initial inspection of the wood flooring for any hazards and risks for slip and fall accidents.

By following these steps, your commercial wood flooring will last for years and you’ll avoid painful, costly and dangerous slip and fall accidents at the workplace.

What Las Vegas Flooring Inspectors Do

You will definitely benefit from the services of a Las Vegas flooring inspector, but of course you want to know what they do before hiring one, right? Here are just a few things you can expect during the flooring inspector’s visit:

  • Observes the condition of the wood flooring
  • Checks the area surrounding the flooring for any hazards
  • Collects data on moisture, friction and so forth using a range of tools and equipment
  • Takes photographs of the flooring for the record and as proof of any issues
  • Writes down notes pertaining to the inspection

Once the flooring inspector has taken a good look at everything, they are able to compile their findings in a report so you can find out about any problems. Of course, the Las Vegas flooring inspector will answer any questions you might have and talk with you further about implementing any changes needed.
