As a business owner seeking to be proactive, there are a number of questions you should ask yourself when it comes to ensuring the safety of the flooring and walkways at the workplace:

  1. Am I interested in doing everything I can to keep my employees safe from slip and fall accidents?
  2. Is the flooring at the workplace in good condition and installed properly?
  3. Do I have a floor safety and maintenance program in place?
  4. Is the floor safety and maintenance program updated, or is it old?
  5. Is there someone at work who is responsible for overall floor safety, spill cleanup and similar tasks?
  6. Are we using the right cleaning techniques, equipment and chemicals on the flooring?
  7. Is the flooring at work appropriate for the tasks the employees are doing and for the level of foot traffic each day?
  8. Am I doing everything I can to protect my company from lawsuits that result from a serious slip-and-fall accident?
  9. Can I provide written documentation about my company’s proactive approach to floor safety in the event of litigation?
  10. Does my company’s current floor safety program show due diligence to safety if it were presented in court?

All these questions, when answered honestly, will provide you with a good indication of whether or not you are doing everything possible to ensure that employees, customers and more are less likely to have a serious slip and fall accident at the workplace.

The good news is that a licensed and certified Salt Lake City flooring inspector can help you answer every single one of these questions, and get your floor safety program up to the highest standards. Not only will your walkways be safer, but in the event of a serious accident and injury that results in litigation, you’ll have adequate documentation for court.

If you are the owner, manager or safety manager of a Salt Lake City business and want to ensure that your workplace flooring is as safe as possible, consider hiring a Salt Lake City flooring inspector to come out to the site and help you discover the answers to the 10 questions above.

There’s one final question to ask yourself: “Could I use the help of a Salt Lake City flooring inspector?” The answer is, “YES!”
