Thinking about flooring and wondering about red body tile? Ceramic tiles create a beautiful look in homes and businesses. They also provide a durable surface. With proper installation and care, they can last for many years. But when it comes to knowing the details about quality, manufacturing processes, and more, sometimes customers, installers, and even contractors may not know as much as they should about ceramic tiles. Ceramic tiles come in two types: red body tile and white body tile. It is a good idea to know the difference between them.

Manufacturers make ceramic tiles from clay and water, and the clay source determines the color. Traditionally, they made red tile from clay found in Spain and Italy, but now manufacturers produce both types all over the world. Looking at the underside, or unglazed side, of the tile will show whether it is red body tile or white body tile. Such tiles are mixed with silica, feldspar, quartz, and other minerals and have a water absorption of about 4%.

There is no difference in quality and performance between red body tile and white body tile. However, prices may vary depending on the country of origin and the manufacturing process. Many in the industry believe one is better than the other. In reality, the true measure of quality in ceramic tile is its density. Density refers to the number of air pockets within the tile. The smallest air pockets lead to the strongest tiles, while those with numerous air pockets are not as tough.

When it comes to ceramic red body tile, there are lots of different things to know in order to make the best choices of materials and use.
